On the subject of vegetables and such, I'm going to be planting my garden over the next few weeks. Mostly tomatoes, but carrots, herbs, radishes and potatoes as well. :) Yes, I like to grow my own veggies. I used to grow my own chickens too, once. To watch them sprout up from the ground, just little tufts of feathers at first...sigh!
Any little village charms/chants anyone might want to tell me, just to bring a little more growth for them? Not that I much need it, I already have a mutant garden...

Absolutely! Grow garlic and onions right in with your roses, if you have any. They are all related, and grow well together. Your veggies will taste better, your roses will smell better, and the onions and garlic are a natural pest repellent. In fact, you can grow onions and garlic amidst your other veggies to keep certain pests away, too!

Hot peppers are good for avoiding worms, or getting rid of them if you have them.

They do, but you may not be able to always get them. There are some funky things threatening us, like avian flu and other natural disasters. I heard that after Katrina hit the gulf, getting any kind of pharmaceuticals at all in that region was almost impossable. Better to be prepared.

It doesn't matter what you grow as long as it brings you joy.
